RISE Conference 2026

The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, in collaboration with the Women in Research Council, presents the RISE (Research, Identity, Solidarity, Empowerment) Conference.

You are invited to a two-day conference that uplifts and amplifies the voices of Black, Indigenous and racialized women pursuing research and professional careers. The conference features interactive workshops, inspiring speakers and opportunities to connect with a community committed to collective growth and representation.

Poster session and call for submissions

The RISE Conference invites undergraduate Black, Indigenous and racialized women from all disciplines to showcase their work during the poster session. This dedicated space highlights research, course-based projects, community initiatives and internship or placement experiences. Submissions are welcome for completed, ongoing or early-stage work.
