2026 Undergraduate Research Awards Recognition Event
Ontario Tech University will bring together Undergraduate Research Awards recipients, their project supervisors, special guests and members of the university community to celebrate the recipients’ research accomplishments.
This hybrid event will take place on Wednesday, August 12. Family and friends are welcome to attend virtually.
Tentative agenda
The event will take place in the Business and Information Technology Building (BIT).
Staff and faculty are encouraged to wear their university name tags. Disposable name tags will not be provided to help reduce waste.
- 10 a.m.: Registration in the BIT Vanhaverbeke Family Atrium; light refreshments in the BIT Mezzanine on the second floor
- 10:30 a.m.: Land acknowledgement and welcome in BIT, Room 2080
- 10:35 a.m.: Greetings from Jennifer Freeman, Executive Director, Office of Research Services
- 10:45 a.m.: Guest presentation and question-and-answer period
- 11:15 a.m.: Presentation of certificates to award recipients
- 11:35 a.m.: Closing remarks
- Noon: Lunch and networking
Three Minute Thesis-style video competition
Award recipients are asked to submit a Three Minute Thesis (3MT)-style video summarizing their summer research experience. All submitted videos will be featured on the event’s YouTube page, and the video receiving the most votes will receive special recognition.
