The Moosehide Campaign

The Moose Hide Campaign began 10 years ago as a BC-born Indigenous-led grassroots movement to engage men and boys in ending violence towards women and children. In 2023, Ontario Tech University was designated by the Moosehide Campaign organziation to be an Ambassador Campus, committed to creating awareness of gender-based violence, taking preventive action to address this across the campus community and the wider community. Day 4 - November 28, 2025

Review Ontario Tech’s Sexual Violence and Harassment Policy

Share a message of solidarity to survivors of violence using #OntarioTechStandsAgainstGBV.

Day 6 - November 30, 2025 

Visit White Ribbon and take the Pledge to help end gender-based violence.

White Ribbon is the world’s largest movement of men and boys working to end violence against women and girls, promote gender equity, healthy relationships and a new vision of masculinity.  They have been educating people about gender-based violence for more than 30 years.

UN Women is “the global champion for women and girls.” Amongst it’s many services and programs, they have also created powerful and inspiring videos that shed light on violence against women, while also highlighting the successes women have achieved against the odds.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Why does gender-based violence disproportionally affect women with disabilities? Challenge yourself to find the answer.

Women with physical and mental impairments experience violence 2-3 times more often than women without. Attend the École Polytechnique Memorial hosted by FEAS

ERC Atrium, 11:00–12:00 

In 1989, 14 women were murdered at Ecole Polytechnique simply because they were in STEM programs and deemed feminists by their murdered.

National Day of Remembrance and Action

Wear a White Ribbon

Day 15 - December 9, 2025

You can help!  Learn the Signal for Distress 

A discreet hand signal a woman in distress can use to let someone know they need assistance.

The Canadian Women’s Foundation has provided $270 million in funding for grassroots, feminist, life-transforming programs for women, girls, and gender-diverse people in Canada.  They created the Signal for Distress as a tool for anyone experiencing gender-based violence.
